Indian Railways: 200 Trains Returned Back on Track, Passengers followed Social Distancing

The country has moved from lockdown to unlocked phase amid Corona cases rising rapidly, today is the first day of Unlock One. As soon as the beginning of June, 200 trains have also returned to the track, keeping pace with the railways, since June 1, 200 regular trains have ran on the tracks. Let us tell you that 15 Rajdhani special trains are already running, whereas Rail service has been partially restored following the nationwide lockdown implemented since March 25 amid conditions arising out of the Corona epidemic. Indian Railways started services of 200 trains across the country from June 1 and many trains left for their destinations according to the timetable.

The trains were dispatched following the guidelines issued by the Railways such as social distancing, face mask, thermal screening. According to Railway Ministry officials, more than 1.45 lakh passengers are traveling on Monday. The first train to leave for Varanasi was the Chhatrapati Maharaj Shivaji Terminus to Mahanagari Express, which ran at 12.10 pm. The Karnavati Express between Ahmedabad and Mumbai Central departed from Ahmedabad at 4.55 am. After this, the Bangalore-Hubli Jan Shatabdi Express departed from Bangalore station at 6 am with 82 passengers. According to the railway, 160 passengers booked tickets for the train and will be boarding at Yashwantpur and Tumkuru stations.

At the same time, the first train from New Delhi left for Dehradun and Himachal at 2:35 pm, social distancing, masks and the entire protocol has been taken care of at the railway station. Passengers are following the guidelines of the railway and checking is being done at the check point at the railway station. According to the information, about 26 lakh passengers booked for the Advance Reservation Period (ARP) from 1 to 30 June. However, Railways has already clarified that passengers with confirmed or RAC tickets are allowed to board the train, whereas passengers with waiting tickets will not be allowed to board the train.
