35-year-old Ajay Rana, who came to India by raping a woman in Britain, was sentenced to seven years in jail. On December 9, 2017, Ajay Rana carried out the rape incident in his wife's car. In the Lowestoft of the city of Sufolk in East England, he pretended to give a woman a lift in the car, then he raped her.

Ajay Rana, on December 9, 2017, after sexual harassment of a woman in Britain, on December 13,  came to India with an excuse for mother's disease.

After a 2-week trial, Rana was found guilty of rape in Ipswich Crown Court of Suffolk. After which the sentence was pronounced and the order to sign for an indefinite period was also ordered of the criminals.

Detective Chief Superintendent of Sufolk Police, Eimon Brizer, said that this was a complex investigation which was completed despite all the challenges. The investigation team has worked hard for several months so that the victim can get justice. And I am proud of the fact that they have yielded the right results to bring justice to the victim. However, after the crime, when the British police identified the suspect, the culprit had left the country and fled.

However, Rana was traced in Spain because British police had issued a British officer warrant against him. After which Spain police sent Rana to Britain in November last year after the approval of the Spanish court.

During the trial, a 30-year-old victim told that he gave her a lift by saying that there is very cold outside, with me, she also lifts to even two more people. After which the victim sat in the car. After this Rana stopped the car downstairs and carried out rape with me. Then somehow she managed to get out of the car and ran for a friend house to help. After which he contacted the police.

After which the sufolk police started an investigation by inquiring into CCTV, forensic report and to the nearby home. In the statement given in court, the victim said that 'this attack will disturb my whole life'.

Due to the post-traumatic stress disorder, despite counseling, he started harming himself and had to face frequent flashbacks.

The police identified Ajay Rana with the earphones of him and traced Rana's car with the help of CCTV. News of Ajay Rana coming to India got via home and friends and later proceedings to get out of India were carried forward.

A European arrest warrant was issued against him so that if he tries to enter a member state of another EU (EU), then he should be arrested there. After long efforts, he was caught in Spain and brought back to Britain. Rana was sent to UK custody in November last year and now he will be sentenced to 7 years in a UK jail, after which he is expected to send him back to India.
