The top three archers are to receive Olympic tickets. But with the Olympics postponed for one year, AAI has to plan for another trial.
The AAI has not yet decided whether to start the selection process from open trial or to start the trial from the bottom by exempting the top eight archers. AAI Secretary-General Pramod Chandrukar said that nothing has to be tried again. Seniors should not back down if there is an open trial.
Tarundeep, who won the country's first individual medal at the Asian Games, says that junior archers will not lose their rights by conducting a repeat trial. He himself is among the top three archers but believes that it would not be right to retain the top eight for a year and a half. This will lead to a decline in performance.
