World-record holder Usain Bolt brushed aside the challenge from a Peruvian tuk-tuk in Lima on Tuesday.

The Jamaican sprinter beat the rickshaw at a canter over 50 metres, cheekily looking back over his shoulder to smile at the driver, much to the delight of the crowd.

Usually, the race is between players, but in Peru, there was a unique race on Tuesday. This race took place between the world's fastest athlete Usain Bolt and Tuktuk (auto), which was won by him in just 7 seconds. Eight-time Olympic champion Bolt easily wins the race.

The three-time Olympic champion over both 100m and 200m finished things off with his trademark lightning bolt celebration.

Event organizers chose the 'Moto-taxi' as it is the emblematic vehicle of many Peruvian cities. Bolt is visiting Lima as part of promotional campaign for the Pan American Games in Lima later this year.

During the race, it seemed as if Bolts was jogging. Thousands of fans had come to see this unique race. After winning the race, Bolt also gave his signature push 'Lightning Bolt'. Plus pictures and photos with fans.

Records

Jamaica's Bolt has a world record of 100 meters and 200 meters. He completed 100 meters race 9.58 seconds and 200 meters in 19.19 seconds. He won 8 gold in three Olympics. He won this gold at the Beijing Olympic 2008, London Olympics -2012 and Rio Olympics-2016. He is the 11-time World Champion.

Bolt, 32, retired after the 2017 World Athletics Championships in London.

He greeted the hundreds of cheering fans who turned out for the Lima event with his signature lightning bolt pose, saying: "I didn't know there was going to be so many people, but I'm excited and it's awesome to see so many people coming out."
