Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari has said that my dream is to build Delhi-Jaipur Electric Highway. All-electric vehicles including buses, trucks ply on this electric highway. The electric highway will be further embodied, it is my dream. Gadkari was interacting with the media after inspecting the Mumbai-Delhi Greenfield Highway in Dausa.

Ethanol will be available for Rs 65 a liter

Improvement works including construction of flyover will be done at a cost of 1200 crores. It Will is 100% perfect in one and a half years. There is encroachment at many places on Delhi Jaipur Highway. It will be fixed soon. Gadkari said- Next we want to drive ethanol in the country instead of diesel-petrol. For this, we are going to change the law. In the first phase, there will be a system to run scooters and motorcycles on ethanol in two years. Ethanol will be available for Rs 65 a liter whereas petrol is much more expensive than this. We want to go completely ethanol-based vehicles in place of petrol diesel.

Horns of vehicles will play the tune of musical instruments

Gadkari said – Indian music instruments will now be heard in the horns of vehicles. Indian music instruments including sarangi, tabla, harmonium will now be installed in the horns of vehicles. However, this will reduce sound pollution. However wildlife will not be disturbed by highways passing around wildlife.

Four contractors of the Delhi-Jaipur highway ran away

On the question of flaws at many places on the Delhi-Jaipur highway, Gadkari said that four contractors of the Delhi-Jaipur highway ran away. As of now, two went bankrupt.  He had a meeting with Vasundhara Raje 25 times regarding this highway. There were disputes over the lane of 1300 crores of 12 banks. Now we will complete the improvement work including flyover till Kishangarh in one and a half years. I am not solely responsible for the trouble on the Delhi-Jaipur highway. It was tendered before I came. Still, it has been worked on and will be fixed in the future.

Earn crores by developing the land

Gadkari said- Rajasthan government should acquire land around Greenfield Expressway, if you delay, then leaders, builders take land first. Poor farmers sell the land. I want to tell the farmers, even if the land is worth crores, don't sell it, hold it. By doing a joint venture with a developer, you can earn crores by developing the land. Nowadays people come to us with a memorandum to acquire land for highways because we pay more money than the market price.
