A bench headed by the newly sworn-in Chief Justice of India SA Bobde ordered Chidambaram's bail plea to be listed before a suitable bench on Monday. "It is listed before an appropriate bench on November 20," the bench said in its order late evening.

Earlier, on behalf of Chidambaram, senior advocate Kapil Sibal demanded that the bail plea be listed immediately. Sibal said this from the bench, which also includes Justices BR Gavai and Suryakant. Chidambaram has been in jail for nearly 90 days. The Delhi High Court on November 15 dismissed Chidambaram's bail plea in a case filed by the ED, stating that prima facie charges against him were of a serious nature and he had committed the offense. Played an active and important role. Chidambaram was first arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on August 21 in the INX Media Corruption Case and was granted bail by the Supreme Court on October 22.

Chidambaram, who was arrested by the ED on October 16 in a money laundering case, is currently in judicial custody till November 27 under a trial court order. The CBI filed a case on May 15, 2017, alleging irregularities in the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) approval to INX Media Group to receive foreign funds worth Rs 305 crore in 2007 during Chidambaram's tenure as Union Finance Minister.
