Preparations are underway to convene the session of the Legislative Assembly amidst the possibilities of a cabinet reshuffle. Government departments have started preparations in view of the assembly session. Some new bills are also ready to be introduced in the assembly. The Parliamentary Affairs Department has sent a proposal to the Chief Minister to convene the Assembly session. Now after the decision is taken at the level of the Chief Minister, the file will be sent to the Raj Bhavan. This time the assembly session is also being considered important because before that there is a reshuffle in the Gehlot cabinet.
According to the parliamentary provisions, it is mandatory to convene a meeting of the Legislative Assembly once in six months. March 19 was the last meeting in the budget session of the assembly. Thereafter, the proceedings of the assembly were adjourned sine die. According to the provision of six months, it is necessary to call the assembly session before September 19. Preparations have started in the government regarding this. However, the old session has not been prorogued yet.
The date of the assembly session is yet to be decided. A reshuffle in the Gehlot cabinet is also believed to be fixed before the assembly session. Congress state in-charge Ajay Maken has gone to Delhi after taking feedback from MLAs and party office bearers. Maken can give a full report of the feedback to the Congress high command in Delhi today. After this, the exercise of reshuffle in the cabinet will start. There may be a reshuffle in the Gehlot cabinet anytime in August. Ajay Maken has indicated to remove many ministers yesterday, after removing many senior ministers, they will be put in the work of the organization.
The faces of the Gehlot cabinet are set to change before the assembly goes into session. Along with the changed cabinet, the government is now expected to go to the assembly session. With the cabinet reshuffle, many of the leaders who are out may find a place in the organization.
