Qatar Postponed the Opening of Stadium for FIFA World Cup 2022

Qatar has postponed the opening of the stadium used in the FIFA World Cup to be held in 2022 until next year. FIFA reported that the 'Education City Stadium' was to be unveiled on December 18 this year during the semi-final match of the Club World Cup. One team in this match is Liverpool while the other team has not been decided. This match of the Club World Cup will now be played at the Khalifa International Stadium due to the delay in getting the certificate from the local authorities to the stadium. Education City Stadium will be unveiled now in 2020, but FIFA has not announced any set date for it. FIFA said, 'Construction of the Education City Stadium has been completed and the venue is now operational. However, it is taking longer than expected to get the required certificate. In such a situation the stadium was unable to host the necessary test matches before the FIFA Club World Cup semi-finals and final.'

The Spanish football league La Liga, played between Atletico Madrid and Villarreal, ended in a goalless (0–0) draw. Atletico manager Diego Simone, who lost against Barcelona last week, must have been relieved of this result as his team still remains in the title race. After this draw, the team is ranked sixth in the points table with 26 points while Villarreal's team remains in 12th place with 19 points. The opening 20 minutes of the match both teams tried scoring goals. Samuel's shot from Villarreal went over the goal post while Gerad Moreno tried to get the ball through the header to the goal post, but he too was disappointed. However, Benfica joined Atletico from the club with Joao Felix as the team's goal scorer. He sent the ball from outside the box towards the goal post, but he too could not open the team's account in the match. After the match, Simone said, "My team's players had created many chances to score goals, but they could not convert them into goals."

The Inter Milan team, topping the points table of Italy's Football League Serie A, failed to score a goal this season for the first time and the team played a goalless draw against the Roma club. After this result, Inter's table has increased to 38 points from 15 matches while Roma are fourth with 29 points.
