Problem in J&K not over with Scrapping of Article 370, Says RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said on Saturday that the removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir had not completely resolved the issue. There is still such a class of people talking about freedom. At the program of a book launch in Nagpur, Mohan Bhagwat said that society must reach out to this section and introduce them to India.

Article 370 has paved the development

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said he had recently visited Jammu and Kashmir and found that the repeal of Article 370 had paved the way for development. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat said at an event last month in Mumbai, he saw that Muslim students from Jammu and Kashmir had said they wanted to remain part of the country India and could now remain Indians without hindrance.

In the past, Bhagwat alleged that Jammu and Ladakh faced discrimination and 80 percent of the resources used in the Valley of Kashmir went into the pockets of local leaders and people could not get any advantage. He said now this has changed and the lives of the people there are "happy".

Article 370 came in the way of taking action against terrorists

Also, he said that Article 370 also came in the way of taking action against terrorists in J&K but now no one is afraid of terrorists. People holding stones in their children's hands instead of books have stopped appreciating them (terrorists). Now there is an open atmosphere. There will be elections tomorrow and a new government will be formed.

Bhagwat said that many people in Kashmir identify with Indian nationalism. But there are others who are happy that "leaders who are corrupt have gone to jail" and development is taking place. We will need to intensify our assimilation efforts," the RSS chief said. He said that Indian society should take advantage of the good environment that exists now and reach out to all of them and establish close ties so that they feel that they belong to India.
