You must have heard about cowshed or Dharamshala for other animals till now, but today we are telling you about the country's first pigeon shelter. Where pigeons are taken care of throughout the day. At all times, there is a complete arrangement of pigeons' grains here. Many water pools have also been made for their drinking water. The only well-maintained pigeon shed in the entire country is situated in the Peh village, situated at the foot of the Aravalli hills in Nagaur district.

With the inspiration of Jain Saint Roop Muni Maharaj, members of Shri Vardhman Gurut Kamal Kanhaiya Vinay Seva Samiti Peeh and a team of 18-20 youths have built this pigeon house. For the protection of pigeons, it has been built through Sevat Samiti on two bighas of land costing one crore from Bhamashah. There is also a park for children to play in this pigeon shed, and a prayer room has also been built for the elderly. Where in the morning and evening the elders of the village gather together and do bhajan kirtan after feeding the pigeons, then the children of the village play in the park throughout the day. About 400 trees have also been planted in the pigeon shed. Of these, 100 trees are of Ashoka.

This is the story of pigeon shed

In the year 2006, together with some youths, in the Government Higher Secondary School, with the collective cooperation, the system of water for pigeons started. Eight years later, on the instructions of Saint Vinaymuni Maharaj of Jain society and with the inspiration of local Tejraj Jain, Shri Vardhaman Guru Kamal Kanhaiya Vinay Seva Samiti was formed. Committee chairman Nathmal Duggad, treasurer Anil Srishrimal, and secretary Gyanchand Kothari got the construction of a pucca pigeon shed on the land received from Bhamashah at a cost of about one crore. It was inaugurated by Jain saints Roopmuni Maharaj and Vinay Muni Maharaj with their own hands-on 14 January 2014. Today, 5-6 sacks of paddy are fed to pigeons daily in the pigeon shed.

President Nathmal Duggad informed that the paddy comes from Ajmer Mandi by filling pick up four to five times every month in the pigeon shed, the estimated cost of which is three lakh rupees every month. Apart from this, a water pool has also been constructed for the pigeons to drink water in the pigeon shed. For the first many years, water was arranged through freshwater tankers, but only recently, boring has been done in the pigeon shed itself.

System designed for saving and spending

Apart from this, another arrangement has been made. The amount coming through the trust in the pigeonhole is deposited directly into the bank account by making a lifetime FD. The principal amount is never used. Only the interest earned from the bank is spent. At present, about 50 lakh rupees are deposited in the bank account in the pigeon shed.
