So far 73 people have died due to floods in Bihar after heavy rains. Normal life is badly affected in the capital Patna due to heavy rains and floods. On the other hand, after the flood, there is a possibility of an epidemic in the waterlogged areas.

According to media reports, Union Minister of State for Health Ashwini Choubey has asked the central team to go to Bihar in view of the possibility of an epidemic. Here, the State Meteorological Department has directed the administration of the concerned districts to remain alert and make proper arrangements for relief material. Apart from this, DM Kumar Ravi in Patna has issued an order to close all schools and other educational institutions.

Pratyam Amrit, Principal Secretary, Disaster Management Department, Bihar, said, '73 people have died and 9 are injured due to floods. The pump brought from Coal India had some technical problems. If work starts on Thursday, we will clear the water from Rajendra Nagar.

Former Union Minister and BJP MP Ramkripal Yadav arrived in his parliamentary constituency Pataliputra on Wednesday to visit the flood-hit areas. During this time his boat capsized in Ramani Bigha area of Dhanrua, after which he started sinking. They were rescued by the local people immediately. He was also marginally injured in this incident.

At the same time, Nitish Kumar's government is under the question of misconduct after rain in Patna and other areas. Several feet of water is collected in the posh areas of the city. Boats are running in the streets. Meanwhile, the BJP has also targeted the Nitish government for tackling the floods. After Union Minister Giriraj Singh, now Bihar BJP President Sanjay Jaiswal has accused the Nitish government of administrative neglect over floods and waterlogging in Patna.
