The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Panchkula has been suspended due to allegations of not admitting patients on time, negligence in treatment, and ignoring the orders of the government during Corona. Health Minister Anil Vij has sent the file of posting of new CMO to the Chief Minister along with issuing the order to suspend Dr. Jasjeet Kaur. Efforts were made to stop the suspension order but Vij remained adamant. The matter has now reached the Chief Minister. According to sources, preparations are being made to make Dr. Mukti the new CMO of Panchkula. Panchkula's CMO Dr. Jasjeet Kaur is also accused of misbehaving with patients and their relatives.

When complaints reached Health Minister Vij, he asked the CMO to present his side. An attempt was made to save the CMO till the end of the investigation, but Vij found that the CMO did not discharge his responsibility properly and left the corona patients on their own. During this, many orders were given by the government to the CMO, which were not complied with within time. Because of this, the Health Minister was very angry.

Anil Vij asked the Additional Chief Secretary, Health Department, Rajiv Arora to issue an order for the suspension of CMO Jasjeet Kaur, but it has been learned that a lot of pressure is being put on to stop the suspension of the CMO. Since the CMO is a relative of a senior official in the Chief Minister's Office. So far written orders for suspension of CMO have not been issued.

CMO to withdraw the Suspension Order

The officials contacted Health Minister Anil Vij to lobby Chief Minister Office and to withdraw the suspension order and transfer him, but Vij is adamant to get his order complied. Administrative officials are still hopeful that Vij will agree to withdraw his suspension order, but his stern stand does not appear to ignore complaints of negligence in treating patients, ignoring ministerial orders, and misbehaving with people.

Anil Vij has received many complaints about the lack of cleanliness in Panchkula Civil Hospital, poor toilets, proper food arrangements for the patients, and all the shortcomings in the proper treatment of patients to prevent corona. The CMO kept evasive every time, using her influence.

Officers' Negligence

In the second wave of Corona, preparations were made to act on the Chief Minister Office. Jasjeet Kaur was then saved saying that this would send a wrong message to the CMOs working in different districts. This time also the news of suspension was kept suppressed for three days. The officers kept trying to stop the suspension but the pressure on Vij did not have any effect. He has given a clear indication to the officers who were negligent in the preparations for the third wave. That if negligence is done then the punishment is sure to fall.
