Muzaffarpur: A Child Dies after Eating Shradh Food, about 40 People Fall Sick

In the Saraiya block area of ​​Muzaffarpur district, about 40 people fell ill after eating the food of Shradh on Tuesday night. All the sick have been admitted to various hospitals. The number of children is more among the sick.

According to police sources, Phula Devi, wife of Ganesh Mahato, a resident of Rupauli village, had died a few days ago. On this occasion, there was a feast for the Shradh program on Tuesday evening. In this, a large number of people of the village ate the banquet. One by one people complained of stomach aches after eating the meal. Most of them were children.

Soon the children were suffering from vomiting and diarrhoea. Everyone was rushed to the hospital. During this, a child died, who has been identified as Nishant Kumar (10), son of Bigan Mahato.

Muzaffarpur Civil Surgeon Vinay Kumar Sharma said that prima facie appears to be a case of food poisoning. About 20 children have been admitted to the Saraiya Primary Health Center, while some of the victims are being treated in a private hospital.

He said that a team of doctors is being sent to the village. Confirming the death of one child, Civil Surgeon Dr. Vinay Kumar Sharma said that some children were referred from Common Health Center in Saraiya to private hospitals and five to Sadar Hospital.

A child named Nishant Kumar died during treatment. Dr. Vinay Kumar said that the medical officers of CHC Saraiya have been directed to treat the children on top priority. Many senior officers of the district are also going to the village along with the CHC. The CS said that the food sample has been collected and is being sent to the laboratory for testing.
