Mega PTM (Parents-Teachers Meeting) was held on Saturday in all government schools of Delhi. The Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister also arrived at the Mega PTM. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal interacted with parents and students at Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya, Rouse Avenue. He said that the effect of major changes in government schools in 5 years is that people are now taking their children out of private schools and teaching them in government schools.

Kejriwal said that talk of infrastructure or classroom teaching, now Delhi's government schools are better than private. Till few years ago people used to get recommendations for admission in private schools, now there is a recommendation for admission of children in government schools. The Chief Minister told the media that PTM is being organized regularly in government schools.

The CM said that earlier PTMs were held in private schools, but such meetings were held in government schools. Ever since PTM has been introduced in government schools, teachers as well as parents have been quite happy, as children get a chance to talk about progress. Negotiation between parents and teachers is very important for improving education. The effect of PTM is that now parents are also showing more interest in the education of their children at home. They get to know how their child is doing in school.

In response to a question asked about the timing of PTM, the Chief Minister said that this has been happening for many years. The BJP tried to stop the PTM, but this is not a good thing. One should not do politics on studies. The Chief Minister said that now the government schools have become very good due to the hard work of principals and teachers. Children and their parents are also proud that their children study in a government school. The Chief Minister spoke to parents and students on the changes in the schools. At the same time, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia reached two schools and said that this time when we wanted to have PTM, the opponents tried to stop it by pretending to be cold.
