Lashkar-e-Taiba's top commander Umar Mushtaq Khande has been surrounded by soldiers

Earlier it was reported that an encounter is going on between security forces and terrorists in Drangbal, Pampore, Pulwama. However, Lashkar-e-Taiba's top commander Umar Mushtaq Khande has been surrounded by soldiers. He has been involved in the killing of many policemen and various terrorist activities.

A senior Police officer of J&K has ruled out any security lapse behind the recent killings of civilians in the Valley. He said that it is not possible to provide security to all those who can be soft targets of terrorists.

Seven civilians were killed by terrorists in Kashmir last week

Kashmir's Inspector General of Police (IGP) Vijay Kumar told reporters on the sidelines of a function here that none of the residents who were killed last week were provided security by the police. Seven civilians, including four from the minority community, were killed by terrorists in Kashmir last week, triggering fear in the Valley and political parties criticizing the security apparatus.

IG Vijay Kumar said, there was no security lapse. They (terrorists) chose easy targets, we did not provide them (civilians) security. It is not possible to provide security to all soft targets. Rejecting the criticism of the security system by politicians, Kumar said that the police are dealing with the situation in a professional manner.

He also said, the job of politicians is to make all kinds of statements. I am a professional and I know how to deal with it. We are dealing with it in a professional manner. The IGP said that since October 8, 11 terrorists have been killed in nine encounters.
