Giriraj Singh (Union Minister and MP from Bihar's Begusarai) on Tuesday thanked the Assam Government for the steps taken for population control and asked the All India United Democratic Front Chief Badruddin Ajmal, Is Islam just a childbearing factory in India in his view. Giriraj tweeted on Tuesday, "Islam in Hindustan, according to Badruddin Ajmal, is only a childbearing factory. Is there no Islam in countries like Iran, Indonesia, Malaysia etc. where effective measures are taken to control the population."  He said, "In 1951 the population of the country was 36 crores which has now increased to 137 crores, every  year the population of 2 crores is increasing." The Union Minister said, 'I thank the Government of Assam for the work that should have been done in India long ago.'

He said, "Explosive population has become an explosive problem for resources, development and social harmony." Regarding the increased crime in Begusarai, his Parliamentary constituency, Giriraj said, 'Crime in Begusarai is at a peak and the situation is that when I go to meet a murder victim then another murder happens, 10 people were shot in the last 72 hours in which 7 has died. It will not work like this and today I will talk to senior police officers.

Referring to the meeting with the Superintendent of Police in Bajalpura, Teghra and Machha, the victim said, "In view of the increasing criminal incidents in Begusarai, a meeting was held with the Superintendent of Police of the district and he assured that conditions will be improved."
