Russia has started the process of supplying the much-awaited S-400 missile system to India, which will further strengthen India's defence power. Its first unit will be deployed near the western border of India with Pakistan. Equipment related to this is being sent to India by sea and air. The first unit is expected to arrive by the end of this year.

The S-400 supersonic air defence system consists of supersonic and hypersonic missiles, which deliver precise strikes to the target. These missiles can attack and destroy enemy fighter aircraft, missiles, drones and hidden aircraft within a radius of 400 km. With its launcher, two missiles can be fired at enemy missiles or fighter aircraft in three seconds.

Supply process begins

Taking America's displeasure, India had made an agreement with Russia for this state-of-the-art missile system. For this, an agreement of about 35 thousand crore rupees was signed between India and Russia in October 2019. The US had also warned India of sanctions in case of proceeding on this deal with Russia, but India remained firm on its decision. Now the supply of the same S-400 missile system is going to be available to India soon, for which the process has started.

Dmitry Shugaev, director of Russia's Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC), made an important announcement in this regard during the Dubai Air Show, the main defence export control organization of the Russian government. n  He said, 'Russia has started supplying S-400 air defence systems to India.'

India's defence power will increase

The first squadron of S-400 missile systems in India is expected to be delivered by the end of this year. The necessary equipment for this is being brought by both sea and air routes. It is being told that after the deployment of the first squadron of the S-400 missile system on the western border, the Indian Air Force will focus on the eastern border, which borders China.
