As we all know that entire country has been suffering and combating the virus since the beginning of March. As we blinked our eyes, the virus had already spread in all over the world. Each and every country is striving hard to find the vaccine and to prevent the virus to some extent through social distancing. Almost every country has been under lockdown since March including India. Besides, India has also shown a remarkable progress in slowing down the spread of corona virus and also managed to flatten the curve, in contrast to it lockdown has also led to the economic crisis which needs to be recovered as soon as possible.

According to many sources and research reports, India is projected to record the highest number of births in the 9 months since Covid-19 was declared a pandemic in March, with more than 20 million babies expected to be born in the country between March and December, according to a top UN body.

The United Nations Children's Fund (Unicef) warned that pregnant mothers and babies born during the pandemic across the world were threatened by strained health systems and disruptions in services. Even more astonishing fact is that- It is estimated that there will be 24.1 million births in India for the January-December 2020 period.

UNICEF has clearly warned that Covid-19 containment measures can disrupt life-saving health services such as childbirth care, putting millions of pregnant mothers and their babies at great risk.

Hence, It can be clearly said that- "New mothers and newborns will be greeted by harsh realities."

In this growing birth rate along with growing Corona virus, efforts must be made to help pregnant women receive antenatal checkups, skilled delivery care, postnatal care services, and care related to Covid-19 as needed. Moreover, even sick newborns need emergency services as they are at high risk of death. New families require support to start breastfeeding, and to get medicines, vaccines and nutrition to keep their babies healthy. All these facts clearly say that new births in this pandemic is completely risky and must be avoided in any way.

To conclude, it can be made out that now, it is the high time when all the lawmakers must be united and to frame a bill for controlled birth rate. There should be a uniform bill for all the religion and nobody should be allowed to have more than one wife and more than two children. All type of government help and subsidy must be banned from all those who defy this law. This is an effective way to curb the rapidly increasing birth rate during this Corona pandemic as this problem will only create harsh difficulties to the nation already struggling with an enormous emergency.
