CM’s Photo to be Removed from Pink Ticket in DTC Buses: Delhi

The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) office has started vigorously following the implementation of Election Code of Conduct and directive of monitoring from Election Commission. He has directed to initiate action by sitting with officials of civic agencies and departments monitoring election expenses. Also, the department's website and government buildings have instructed to remove the photo of leaders associated with political parties.

Photo of Chief Minister (CM) will also have to be removed from the pink ticket given to women in DTC buses. Photographed tickets cannot be used during elections.

In DTC buses and cluster buses, women are given pink tickets for free travel. It is mandatory for every female passenger to take this ticket. Photo is printed on the back of the ticket. Disease has also been imposed on the use of government vehicles. Dr. Ranbir Singh said that there should not be a photo of the leader of any political party on the social media accounts of the departments. Departments have been told that action has now started on the violation of the code of conduct.

The CEO held a meeting with the election officials of all 11 districts of the three municipal corporations, NDMC and Delhi Cantt Board. In this, he directed that banners and posters should be removed from government buildings, public properties within 48 hours and private properties in 72 hours after the code of conduct is implemented.

The CEO also held a meeting with the officials of the police, Income Tax Department, Narcotics Department, GST, Excise Department and all the concerned departments monitoring election expenses. He was also instructed to start action.

Political parties have also been warned about the election code of conduct. He was also informed about the process of filling the affidavit with Form-26 during enrollment.
