CM Nitish Kumar Reply to KC Tyagi’s Statement

After the meeting of the Janata Dal United (JDU) National Executive Committee, the party's National General Secretary, KC Tyagi made a big statement on Wednesday, in which he said that JDU may join the Union Cabinet, but with some of its Conditions.  If his party gets a proper force representation on the basis of strength, then it is ready to join the Central Cabinet. JDU national president cum Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has rejected this statement on Thursday and said that there is no such thing. In this way, political rhetoric is likely to intensify in Bihar over conflicting statements of the two leaders.

After the JDU meeting held in Delhi on Wednesday, KC Tyagi said that at the time of the formation of the cabinet after the Lok Sabha elections, JDU had refused the offer of a ministerial post. The JDU is ready to join the Union Cabinet if the strength of the parliament is outnumbered. He also said that JDU has appointed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Deputy Chief Minister in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government in Bihar.

He did not directly say how many ministerial posts the JDU needs in the central government, nor did he give any time limit. Nevertheless, he made it clear that JDU has not placed any conditions for the post of minister in the Central government. But it was pointed out that the JDU is still under representation in the central government and should be given ministerial posts in proportion to the number of MPs. In the midst of rhetoric between JDU and BJP leaders in Bihar, KC Tyagi made it clear that in 2020 the BJP-JDU alliance will contest the elections together and win more seats than the 2010 assembly elections. It is to be noted that in the 2010 assembly elections, the BJP-JDU alliance was successful in winning 206 out of 243 seats.
