A FIR has been lodged in the Garhpura police station in Begusarai District against the candidate of opposite parties and JNU former student president Kanhaiya Kumar and his supporters. A police official said on Monday that Kanhaiya Kumar's supporters and a group of local people clashed on Sunday when Kumar was performing road shows in Korai village of Garhpura block.

There is an allegation that during the roadshow black flags were shown here, after which the supporters of Kanhaiya had beaten the protesters. Pratosh Kumar, in-charge of Garhpura police station said that an FIR has been lodged in the Garppura police station on the basis of a written statement of the resident of Korai village, in which 12 accused including Kanhaiya Kumar were named and accused 100 unknown people has gone. They said that the police is investigating the entire matter. In the Begusarai Lok Sabha constituency, Kanhaiya Kumar is contested against Union Minister Giriraj Singh and Tanveer Hassan of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).
