Social activist and anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare said he will return his Padma Bhushan award to the President if the Centre doesn't concede to his demand for Lokpal and Lokayukta.
Speaking to media here on Sunday, the activist said he arrived at this decision due to the grim scenario prevailing in the society and country.
In support of Anna Hazare's demands, farmers and youth blocked the Ahmadnagar-Pune state highway in Supa village of Parner tahsil, about 38 km from here. Road traffic jammed on both sides of the road 6 kilometers. Police detained 110 agitators for abducting the road and later released them.
Hazare's colleagues said that about five thousand farmers of the district can perform outside the Ahmednagar collector's office on Monday in support of Hazare's agitation. On the other hand, Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray appealed to the state BJP government to intervene in this matter, saying that he did not play 'the life of the social worker'. Dr. Dhananjay Pote told Anna after health checkup on Sunday. That is why they have lost 3.8 kilograms due to lack of food and creatine levels in blood pressure, blood sugar and urine are also increasing steadily.
