According to a recent US report, India is the third largest publisher in the world to publish articles written on the subject of science and engineering. According to data prepared by the National Science Foundation of America, China is at number one in this case, which contributes 20.67 percent of the world's published scientific articles.
These data, released on Tuesday, stated that in 2008, India published 48,998 articles on the subject of science and engineering. This number increased to 1,35,788 articles in 2018 and now India contributes 5.31 percent of the articles published on the subject worldwide.
In China, 2,49,049 scientific articles were published in 2008, which increased to 5,28,263 in 2018. The United States (4,22,808) ranks second in terms of publication of scientific articles. Other countries to make it to the top 10 list are Germany (1,04,396), Japan (98,793), Britain (97,681), Russia (81,579), Italy (71,240), South Korea (66,376) and France (66,352).
