This result means that India, ranked 106th in the world rankings, still needs their first win in qualifying. Substitute Ciminlen Dongel (90 + 3) scored when the Indian team was heading towards their second defeat. Afghanisthan took lead by Jelfagar Nazri’s goal in the first half. After the first Half, Mandar Rao was replaced by Farooq Chaudhary. There was a chance of first goal for India during 58th minute when captain Chetri did a header but it was saved by Ajiji. When disappointment was dominating the Indians, Coach Igor Stimak sent Dongel to the ground in place of Kotal in the 76th minute. Dongel scored one goal to save his team from losing the match.
