Riding on half-centuries from Sanju Samson and Shikhar Dhawan, India A heaped up 204 runs in 20 (overs diminished because of downpour) before Shardul Thakur could lead the path with 3 for 9 of every three overs.

While the hosts lost their first wicket in the absolute first over, Samson and Dhawan consolidated to hit 137 runs in the following 13 overs to set the establishment for a major aggregate. The stand was broken when Dhawan was expelled on 51 off 36 balls by George Linde in the fourteenth over.

Samson left two overs later, having smoked 91 runs off only 48 balls. His innings was punctuated by seven sixes and six fours. Shreyas Iyer then pulled out all the stops in the demise overs to push India past the 200-run mark.

The South Africans never got moving in their innings. Shardul Thakur got a leap forward at the top and after that proceeded to take two additional wickets while Washington Sundar picked two. Rahul Chahar rejected South Africa A's top scorer Reeza Hendricks for 59.
