Coronavirus infection is spreading rapidly in the country and the record of new cases coming up is breaking every day. According to data from the Union Health Ministry, 26,502 new cases of coronavirus have been reported across the country during the last 24 hours, which is the highest number of cases came up in a single day. With the arrival of new cases, the total coronavirus cases in the country have risen to 7,93,802. However, this figure has more number of cured people and less number of positive tested people. There are a total of 2,67,685 active cases of coronavirus in the country so far.
With new cases of coronavirus coming up, the number of people who lost their lives due to corona in the country is also increasing continuously. According to the Union Health Ministry, between 8 am Thursday and 8 am Friday, 476 deaths due to coronavirus have been recorded across the country and till date the virus has killed 21,604 people across the country.
However, with the increase of coronavirus infection in India, the numbers of people recovering from Corona are also increasing rapidly and so far a total of 4,95,512 people have been cured across the country. During the last 24 hours, 19,135 people across the country have recovered from Corona. Coronavirus recovery rate in the country remains above 62 percent.
There is continuous testing in the country for identification of coronavirus patients. On Monday, more than 2.83 lakh tests have been conducted across the country. The total coronavirus testing in the country has increased to over 110 million. After the United States, Russia and Britain, the highest number of coronavirus tests are being conducted in India.
Speaking of coronavirus cases globally, the total number of cases worldwide has crossed 13.2 million mark, so far, more than 5.57 lakh people have died due to coronavirus worldwide. However, more than 71.87 lakh coronavirus patients have also been cured in the whole world. The highest numbers of cases of coronavirus in the world are in the United States, where more than 32.19 lakh cases have been reported and more than 1.35 lakh people have died, followed by more than 17.59 lakh cases in Brazil and 69 thousand deaths. More than 7 lakh cases have also been reported in Russia.
