Kohli, who played a blistering innings in the T20 series against the West Indies, is on the threshold of setting a big record against Sri Lanka. Kohli completed 1000 runs as captain in Indore T20, now he is just 1 run away from completing 11 thousand runs in International as a Captain. Kohli scored a 30-run knock against Sri Lanka in the Indore T20 on Tuesday. Thanks to this innings, he touched 10999 runs in International Cricket as captain. Kohli will become the sixth captain in the world and the second Indian captain to do so. Kohli could become the first captain to score the fastest 11000 International runs.

Virat Kohli has scored a total of 10999 runs in International cricket so far. Since assuming the captaincy of Team India, Kohli has scored runs in all three formats of cricket. Kohli has scored 4889 runs in 83 ODIs at an average of 77.60 while in 53 Tests he has 5104 runs at an average of 63.80. Kohli, who captained in 32 T20s, has scored 1006 runs.

India will play against Sri Lanka in the last match of the three-match T20 series on Friday. The match is to be played at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. The first match of the series played in Guwahati was canceled due to rain while India took a 1–0 lead in series by winning the second T20 match. Now in the last match, India would like to win the series after registering a win.
