'India A' defeated New Zealand XI by 92 runs in the first ODI tour match. Team India will play another tour match against New Zealand XI, after which the unofficial Test and ODI series will also be played between the two teams.

In this match, New Zealand XI won the toss and decided to field first. 'India A' captain Shubhman Gill and Mayank Agarwal started innings. However, Mayank Agarwal was dismissed after scoring just 8 runs. But after this, Shubman Gill and Rituraj Gaikwad, who landed at number three, shared  89-run partnership for the second wicket. Captain Shubman Gill was dismissed for 50 off 66 balls with the help of 7 fours. After this, Gaikwad teamed up with Suryakumar Yadav to advance the innings.

After the dismissal of Captain Shubman Gill, Rituraj Gaikwad and Suryakumar Yadav added 89 runs for the third wicket. During this time, Yadav looked very aggressive and he scored 50 runs with the help of 4 fours and 2 sixes in 48 balls before being dismissed. Gaikwad scored 93 runs off 103 balls with 8 fours and two sixes. However, Sanju Samson and Vijay Shankar failed to impress. In this way, India A made a strong score of 279 runs by losing 8 wickets in 50 overs.

Khalil Ahmed took four wickets for India. New Zealand's batsmen Jakob Bhula and Jack Boyle shared an 82-run partnership for the first wicket, but after that none of the team's batsmen could face the Indian bowlers strongly. Bhula scored 50 and Boyle scored 42 runs. Apart from these, Cleaver scored 33 runs. In front of India's tight bowling, the entire team of New Zealand XI was all out for 187 runs in 41.1 overs. Fast bowler Khalil Ahmed took the maximum four wickets for India. Mohammad Siraj and Krunal Pandya got two wickets each.
