Team India pacer Umesh Yadav has cleared the fitness test on Monday. He has been included in the squad for the last two Tests against England at Motera stadium (Ahmedabad). Meanwhile, Shardul Thakur, who was included in the squad for the first two Tests, has been released for the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
According to the BCCI, “Team India fast bowler Umesh Yadav appeared for a fitness test on Sunday, 21st February at Motera. He has cleared his fitness test and has been added to the squad for the last two Tests of the ongoing Paytm India-England Test series.”
Umesh suffered injury during Boxing Day Test against Australia:
Yadav suffered a calf injury during the Boxing Day Test against Australia. He immediately left the field and his remaining over was completed by Mohammad Siraj. After that, he returned to India and was training at the National Cricket Academy since then.
Test Series equaled at 1-1:
In the four-match Test series, both teams have won one match each. Both the opening Test matches were played in Chennai. England beat India by 227 runs in the first Test. India chased the target of 420 runs for victory, scoring only 192 runs in the second innings. Captain Virat Kohli had scored the highest 72 runs in the second innings for India. At the same time, India defeated England by 317 runs in the second Test.
