IND vs ENG: Avesh Khan Ruled Out of Warm-up Match due to Thumb Injury

The Indian team under the captaincy of Virat Kohli is currently on a tour of England. From next month, Team India is to play in a five-match Test series against the host team. Ahead of this series, the Indian team is playing a warm-up match against County Select XI. Meanwhile, Indian fast bowler Avesh Khan suffered injury during this match. Now he will not be able to play further due to injury.

During this match, Indian bowler Avesh Khan had to leave the field midway due to injury. He has been selected as India's nets bowler for the tour of England. Two players from India were included in the team after the County XI team lost its players due to injury and COVID-19 related quarantine. Avesh Khan and Washington Sundar came out to play for the county team.

Rohit Sharma led the Indian side for Warm-up match:

Khan bowled 9.5 overs in the three-day first-class match after which he suffered a thumb injury and is unlikely to take part in the match any further. The medical team of BCCI is monitoring him. Due to injury, he will no longer be able to play for the remaining two days of this match.

On Tuesday, the Indian team played against England's County XI in the first practice match of the tour. Team captain Virat Kohli was complaining of back pain while vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane too could not play in this match due to hamstring. In the absence of these two players, Rohit Sharma took charge of the team.
