The Indian team under the captaincy of Virat Kohli is currently on a tour of England. From next month, Team India is to play in a five-match Test series against the host team. Khan bowled 9.5 overs in the three-day first-class match after which he suffered a thumb injury and is unlikely to take part in the match any further. The medical team of BCCI is monitoring him. Due to injury, he will no longer be able to play for the remaining two days of this match.
On Tuesday, the Indian team played against England's County XI in the first practice match of the tour. Team captain Virat Kohli was complaining of back pain while vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane too could not play in this match due to hamstring. In the absence of these two players, Rohit Sharma took charge of the team.
