The Vice-captain of the Indian Team, Rohit Sharma has achieved another milestone in international cricket during the second ODI against Australia. Rohit Sharma has become the first batsman in the world to score the fastest 7000 runs as an opener in this format of international cricket. Hitman Rohit Sharma has done this feat after scoring 18th run against Australia at Rajkot. In this case, Rohit Sharma has left behind former South African team opener Hashim Amla and Indian veteran Sachin Tendulkar.

The 32-year-old Rohit Sharma has completed 7000 runs while opening in 137th innings, while Hashim Amla did this amazing feat in 147 innings. On the other hand, Sachin Tendulkar, completed 7000 runs in ODI cricket in 160 innings.

Right-handed batsman Rohit Sharma has been handling the responsibility of opening in ODI International cricket continuously since the year 2013. Under the captaincy Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Rohit Sharma was given the responsibility of opening in the lower order, which he performed well and proved himself. Rohit Sharma is the only batsman in the world to score 3 double centuries while opening.

Hashim Amla – 147 Innings
