In this meeting of the Union Cabinet, two packages of self-sufficient India can be approved. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has promised to provide free food grains to the poor by November, this scheme can also be approved by the cabinet today.
Before the Cabinet meeting, there will be a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security, in this meeting PM Narendra Modi, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Foreign Minister Jaishankar will be present. In this meeting, tensions with China, withdrawal of forces of both countries from Galvan, and other security issues can be discussed.

The government is distributing free rations to the poor for the last three months under this scheme. In view of the adverse effect of lockdown on the poor, the government has extended this scheme until November.
Under this scheme, more than 80 crore people of the country will get 5 kg of food grains and 1 kg of pulses/gram free for the next 5 months. With this announcement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, more than 80 crore beneficiaries will get relief from the worry of food and drink in the coming days.
