If you watch Netflix, Hotstar, then these JioFiber Plans are not for you

FUP is in the broadband plan under JioFiber. That is, you can use a speed of 100Mbps up to a limit. After this the speed will be reduced to 1Mbps.

Reliance JioFiber has been announced. All the plans of JioFiber have also come. There are plans ranging from Rs 699 to Rs 8,499. If you are fond of Netflix, Hotstar or other content apps and mostly watch movies and series on them, then some plans of JioFiber are not worth you.

There is not a single broadband plan of JioFiber in which FUP is not given. All plans have FUP (Fair Usage Policy). That is, you can use high speed data up to a limit. However, it is not the case that your internet will be shut down after the data is over. Because after the data runs out, you will continue to get 1Mbps speed.

JioFiber broadband plans have an initial speed of 100Mbps. These speeds range from Netflix or Hotstar to other content apps. But the speed of 1Mbps that you will get after the data is over is not enough.

Keep in mind, the prices of all plans are without GST (GST excluded)

Rs 699 plan is not enough for you

Now let's talk about the plan of 699 rupees. In this plan you will get 100Mbps speed, but with this you will get only 100GB of data. However, as an initial operation, you will get 50GB extra data for six months. In total, you are getting 150GB of data. Its validity is 1 month.

If you watch at least one movie every day on Netflix, watch videos on YouTube, browse the Internet. So 150GB of data will not run for a month. If you have a TV at home and watch Netflix on it. Average keep 1 film every day, yet the plan for 699 rupees is not for you.

On Netflix, when you watch standard definition (SD) content for one hour, 1GB of data is used. At the same time, if you watch HD, 3GB of data is used in an hour. Keep a film average of 2 hours every day. In addition to film, keep 2GB data in video and browsing. That is, together you are spending 8 to 10GB of data a day.

In 30 days, you will use 300GB data, but in the plan of Rs 699, you get 150GB of data. That too will be 100GB after a few months. So this plan is not for you. Even if you are a basic Netflix user, this plan is not for you.

Is 849 plan enough?

Now let's talk about the Rs 849 plan. 200GB data is available in this plan. For the first few months you will get 200GB of extra data. That is, you will get total 400GB data. If you are an average Netflix or other video app user, then the data given under this plan will fall short for you.

We mentioned above the data consumed by Netflix. If you use Netlfix or any other content application on 4K TV then 7GB of data will be consumed in 1 hour. Apart from this, you will consume about 3 to 4GB of data from internet browsing, YouTube videos and gaming.

That is, if you are consuming 10GB to 15GB of data every day, then in the month you will need at least 450GB of data which is not available in this plan. Therefore this plan will not be enough for you.

Rs 1,299 plan

Under this plan you will get a speed of 200Mpbs. Talking about data limit, here you will get 500GB data. 250GB data extras will be available under the initial offer. That is, you are getting 750GB of data. This plan is for you. Because you are an average user, 750GB of data in a month is fine for you.

But there are many people in your house, watching series every day on Netflix, finishing the series with 10 episodes on weekends. In this case, this plan is also not for you. You have to look at the plan of Rs 2,499 in which 2500GB data is given.

Looking at all the plans of JioFiber, it seems that the company should have kept at least one or two plans in which there is no FUP. There are many broadband companies that offer plans without FUP and their packs also come at an aggressive price. Even if every company does not give you 100Mbps speed, but content apps like Netlfilx – are very good in plans above 10Mbps and nowadays companies are offering 50 Mbps plans a lot.
