Sumitra Mahajan said during this that democracy in India is very strong and the constitution systematically prescribes the functions of legislature, executive and judiciary. If you have problems then you can go to the Supreme Court and wait for the verdict.

Sumitra Mahajan said that the court's decision would be acceptable to all. But political leaders incitement of people against the CAA is completely wrong. The CAA is brought in by the government, elected by a two-thirds majority.

Sumitra Mahajan further said that the state governments cannot refuse to implement any special law made by the Center. She said that as per constitutional provisions, state governments cannot say that they cannot implement any special law made by the Center.

Sumitra Mahajan also criticized Rajgarh district collector Nidhi Nivedita and another woman officer who slapped BJP workers during the anti-CAA protest in Biaora town last Sunday. Describing her act as inappropriate, she said that the women of the country are joining the armed forces to fight the enemy, but she should not become the 'queen of Jhansi' everywhere. BJP leaders also protested over the incident and hundreds of leaders, including Sumitra Mahajan, were arrested.
