The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Thursday released the latest Test Rankings. New Zealand Captain Kane Williamson moved to the No. 1 spot in the final update of the 2020 list. He earned No.1 position on the back of his brilliant performance against Pakistan in the Boxing Day Test. At the same time, Virat Kohli has moved down to the second spot, followed by Australia’s Steve Smith. Prior to this, Williamson was jointly at number one with Kohli. He took first place, overtaking Virat by 11 points.
In the ICC’s newly released Test batting rankings, Williamson finished first with 890 points, while Kohli is second with 879 points. Australian batsman Steve Smith has 877 points and is in third place. At the same time, Australia’s Marnus Labuschagne is at the fourth spot (850 points), followed by Pakistan’s Babar Azam at number five (789 points).

Ajinkya Rahane gained 5 places in the latest rankings:
In the absence of Virat in the Test series, Ajinkya Rahane, who led India in the second Test, has gained 5 places. He scored a century in the second Test against Australia, after which he gained 5 positions to No. 6. Cheteshwar Pujara has slipped from 8th to 10th position. Opener Mayank Agarwal, who flopped in both Tests against Australia, has lost 5 places. He has slipped down to 19th position.
Bumrah and Ashwin in Bowlers’ top-10:
Only two Indians Pacer Jasprit Bumrah and off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin are in the top-10 of the ICC bowlers’ Test rankings. Bumrah moved up one place to number 9, while Ashwin gained 2 places moved to number-7. At the same time, the Australian Pacer Pat Cummins is at number 1.
