IPL 2021: BCCI had made a plan for the remaining 31 matches of IPL 14. But the ICC has said such a thing, due to which the board will have to make changes in its entire plan.
The troubles of the BCCI regarding the 14th season of the Indian Premier League are not taking the name of lessening. The BCCI has decided to organize the second phase of IPL 14 in the UAE. The BCCI wants to organize the remaining matches of the league between September 19 and October 15. But the International Cricket Council has made it clear that the BCCI will have to organize the IPL final before October 15.
Actually, the T20 World Cup is going to start from October 18. ICC will not make any changes in the schedule of T20 World Cup. For this reason, now BCCI will have to make a new plan for the remaining matches of IPL season 14.
Another problem for the BCCI is the five-Test series played between England and India. Team India will reach UAE on 15 September after playing Test series against England. Players will need at least three days to refresh after a long tour.
In view of all these conditions, the BCCI can organize the second part of the 14th season of IPL from September 19. As far as the final is concerned, it can be played on October 9 or 10. The window of 20 to 22 days, however, is not going to prove to be easy for the players, as at least 10 double headers will be required to play 31 matches in this window period.
Apart from making the IPL schedule, the BCCI is also in trouble regarding hosting the World Cup. In view of the current situation, the World Cup is set to shift from India to UAE. There are only three grounds in the UAE and they will need 7 to 10 time to prepare for the World Cup after the IPL.
However, giving relief to the BCCI, the ICC has given time till June 28 to take a decision on the World Cup. Along with the UAE, some matches of the World Cup can also be organized in Oman.
