Various petitions are being heard in the Supreme Court today regarding the removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir. During the hearing, Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi said that he can visit Kashmir if needed.

The Supreme Court has allowed Ghulam Nabi Azad to visit Srinagar, Jammu, Anantnag and Baramulla. So that he can take care of the people of his area. However, the court said that Azad will not give any speech during this period nor will he hold any public rally.

Earlier, the Central Government was asked to ensure that normal life is restored in Kashmir at the earliest. He has also asked to keep national security in mind during this period. Explain that the bench of Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi, Justice SA Bobde and Justice Abdul Nazir is hearing the matter. This bench has directed the Central Government to put forward the full picture of Kashmir in two weeks. The Supreme Court asked the Government of India and Jammu and Kashmir to file an affidavit in the case. The court has asked for the next hearing on 30 September.

The bench was told by the Central Government that all the newspapers of all Kashmir are running and the government is providing all kinds of assistance. It also said that TV channels like Doordarshan and other private are working with FM networks in the state. The bench asked Attorney General KK Venugopal presenting on behalf of the Center the details of the steps taken by the Center.
