At present, the whole world is in lockdown due to Coronavirus infection. In such a situation, everyone is expecting the Indian Premier League to be held. All foreign players who play in this league want that this tournament must be played this year. Australian batsman Steve Smith, captain of the Rajasthan Royals, said he hoped the IPL would take place. Smith, talking to Ish Sodhi, hoped for the IPL to take place even in this difficult time. "A lot is happening all over the world right now, but I hope that IPL is organized in some way," he said.

Smith wants to captain Rajasthan's team for the entire season. He told that till now he has never been able to give the team as captain in the entire season. He said, "The two seasons I have not captained the Royals' team for full time, Shane Watson gave me the captaincy in 2015 and last year I suddenly got back the captaincy. That was the end of the season. I want to captain the full time. I'm looking forward to the team looking very good this time."

England wicket-keeper batsman Jos Buttler, who played for Rajasthan Royals, had said that it's a big shame that IPL is not happening. Butler said that this time IPL is not being done due to Coronavirus infection, it is a matter of shame.  The BCCI decided to postpone the IPL till April 15, in view of the increasing number of people infected due to Coronavirus. The government of India has declared a 21-day lockdown across the country.
