Hyundai recalled 16,409 of its cars due to a defect in the CNG filter assembly. According to the company, a total of 16,409 CNG models of Grand i10 and Xcent are being recalled.

The recall notice from Hyundai stated that the affected cars are Non-ABS models. These cars are made between 1 August 2017 to 30 September 2019 and all these cars have factory fitted CNG kits.

16409 CNG cars recalled from Hyundai

Most of the recalled 'prime model' cars are, so it is estimated that most of the affected cars will be in taxi service. The company says that from November 25, all these 16,409 affected cars will be brought to the workshop. There will be no charge from customers for this.

The Nearest Dealer will Contact the Car Owner

The company will inform the car owners about this through the dealership and will advise them to bring the car to the workshop. Checking at the workshop will take about an hour. During this time, if there is a defect in the CNG filter assembly, it will be rectified.

Significantly, Hyundai introduced the first-generation Accent with the CNG model for a limited time, while the Grand i10 still comes with CNG. The factory fitted CNG option is not provided in the second generation accent.
