If you are among those who are employed, then you will definitely be aware that every month a part of your salary goes to the Provident Fund. This money is yours and you can use it anytime. When it comes to PF, the term comes to UAN (Universal Account Number) and you will also be aware. With its help, you can easily check online how many rupees have been deposited in your account so far.

There are many times that when you change jobs, your Universal Account Number changes. That means, in the company where you used to work earlier, your funds were deposited in another PF account. Funds are being deposited in a new account in a new company.

If this has happened to you too, then you have two options. The first option is to withdraw all the money from the old account. Another option is to transfer funds from the old account to the new account. This work is very easy and can be done online from home. Experts say that transferring money from an old account is a better option if it is not very important.

Need to visit EPF's e-Seva Portal

At present, you can easily transfer the amount deposited in the old PF account to the new account. For this, you have to go to the e-Seva portal of EPFO. Here you have to login through UAN and password.

After logging in, the 'Online services' will appear on which to click. There will be an option of 'One Member – One EPF Account (Transfer Request)', on which to click. Here you will get the details of the PF account of the former employer.

Mobile numbers must be registered

Here you can choose your current or former employer to attest to the form. After this process is complete, OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number which is to be submitted. With this, the money from your old PF account will be transferred to the new PF account.

Earlier, each company had its own separate PF number while working in different companies, but in 2014 EPFO issued a UN number to all EPF shareholders. This made all these processes easier.
