Hockey India Announces ‘Online Interactive Session’ for Umpires and Technical Officials

On Monday, Hockey India announced an 'online interactive session' to update its umpires and technical officials about the latest changes in the rules of the game and improve their fitness levels. Hockey India is running this session in six WhatsApp groups, with three groups of technical officers and three umpires.

Hockey India said in the release that more than 100 registered officials are participating in the program six days a week. The experienced tournament directors and umpire managers are conducting the sessions which include Moghul Mohammad Munir, Claudius de Sales, and HS Sokhi. The session for the umpires is being conducted by GS Sangha, Javed Sheikh, and G Harshvardhan.

Through this online session, the knowledge of the officers about FIH rules will be increased and if they have to take any information or have any doubt then it will also clear it. Officers in the group of umpires will also share their daily fitness and training activities.

Hockey India has also suggested some training options and officials can choose suitable options to maintain their fitness and flexibility. The 30 member units of Hockey India are also organizing these sessions in their respective regions. More than 1100 officers are participating in these sessions in more than 70 WhatsApp groups formed by various members.
