HIV has Increased Reasons of Sudden Cardiac Arrest Worldwide

Recently there was a research on sudden cardiac death. It showed that people suffering from HIV infection have more cardiac problems. Also, their number is more in sudden cardiac deaths. It is published in Research General 'Circulation'. A comparative study was conducted between HIV-affected and uninfected men. It has been found that men with the virus have a higher variability of QT interval (a heart rate measurement measure of the heart's electrical properties), which increases the risk of sudden cardiac deaths.

Lead author Amir Hervi of Study who is a medical student of Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He says that at this time it is necessary to send a message through patients and providers that HIV infection should be treated as soon as possible with antiretroviral therapy. So that it can be controlled. Keep in mind that the patient should be fully involved with the medical examination and medicines so that it can be controlled and the level of the virus can also be detected. In addition, HIV-affected people need to be a little cautious about their health. They should make all efforts to remove the factor of cardiovascular diseases. Along with healthy diet, one should try to stay away from smoking. If you have diabetes, then proper treatment should be done. So that extra pressure does not fall on the heart.

According to Hervi, in 2012, for the first time, an HIV clinic in the San Francisco Bay Area recorded an increase in sudden cardiac death among HIV-infected people. However, the increase in it could not detect the biological regions. In an effort to find out more on the subject, Johns Hopkins researchers used data collected from the National Institutes of Health's Multicenter AIDS Cohort Study (MACS). Which is based on an ongoing study for 30 years. Which followed the health of gay and bisexual men from four US cities. The data obtained focused on the results from 534 men without HIV infection and 589 infected men. Of these, 83 percent had undesirable levels of virus in their blood as a result of antiretroviral therapy. Some 61 percent of men identified as white, 25 percent African American, and 14 percent Hispanic or 'other.' Explain that the average age of all the participants was 57 years, and people with HIV had been treating the disease for almost 13 years.
