Heavy Rain Alert in 4 states: Landslides in many Places of Uttarakhand and Himachal

Houses and shops, railway tracks have all been submerged. On the other hand, many roads and highways have been closed due to landslides in Uttarakhand. At the same time, a rain alert has been issued again today in many big districts including Palghar and Pune of Maharashtra.

Big dams like Hasnapur, Anandapur, Willingdon, Ojat, Vrajmi, Dhrafad of Junagadh are overflowing. In Gujarat's Jamnagar, Porbandar, Rajkot, and Junagadh districts, there is a flood situation due to rain. Due to the release of water from these dams, the National Highway has submerged All national and state highways connecting Junagadh, Porbandar and Gir Somnath have been closed due to waterlogging on the roads. Girnar ropeway has also been closed for the time being due to heavy rains.

219.2 mm of rain has been recorded in September

The Saurashtra region usually receives very little rain, but this time in the month of September, it has received record-breaking rains. For this reason, the havoc of floods is being seen here. According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), Gujarat has received almost 4 times the rainfall in the first 15 days of September as compared to August. Gujarat had received 65.3 mm of rain last month. whereas, 219.2 mm has been recorded in September so far.

In Maharashtra's Palghar district, heavy rains and floodwaters in Palghar district for the past two days have inundated the Masavan pumping station and Dhuktan filter plant, which supplies water to Vasai-Virar and submerged both the plants. There is also frequent power failure, so there is a possibility of affecting the supply of drinking water. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in Palghar, Pune, Aurangabad, and Thane districts. Apart from these, light to moderate rains may occur in some districts of Vidarbha.

Badrinath National Highway-58 has been closed due to landslides

Heavy rain continues in most areas of Uttarakhand on Wednesday. Chamoli's Pagal Nala is in spate once again. At the same time, Badrinath National Highway-58 has been closed due to landslides. Landslides are happening everywhere from Kedarnath Highway to Badrinath Highway. Apart from this, roads in rural areas of Rudraprayag have also been broken due to rain and landslides, while roads are jammed in many places.

Heavy rain alert in Delhi too

Light to moderate rain may start again in Delhi from Wednesday night. Heavy rain may also occur in some places. An orange alert is issued as a warning of very bad weather. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert of moderate rain in the city on Thursday.  The Department has expressed apprehension that due to this issue, there is a possibility of drowning on roads and waterlogging.

Record rain in Delhi after 46 years

Delhi has received up to 1,146.4 mm of rain this monsoon, which is the highest in 46 years and almost twice as much as last year. The Safdarjung Observatory reported that in 1975 there was 1,150 mm of rain in the monsoon. whereas, 653.6 mm of rain is recorded in Delhi during the monsoon.
