PM Modi said that our government has given top priority to healthcare. When the country is fighting a huge battle against covid, doctors have saved lakhs of lives, many doctors have also sacrificed their lives in their tireless efforts, I pay tribute to all those souls.
Describing the efforts being made by his government, PM Narendra Modi said that during the first wave of corona last year, we had allocated Rs 15,000 crore to improve our health infrastructure, this year the health care There is a budget allocation of more than two lakh crore rupees for this. The number of AIIMS in the country is being increased. The health budget has been doubled this year.
Targeting the previous governments, PM Modi said you are well aware of the limitations of the kind of medical infrastructure that was created in the country in so many decades, you are also familiar with how medical infrastructure was ignored in earlier times. Our government's focus is on medical infrastructure. We will fulfill our resolve of 'Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah' based on the service of doctors.
The PM said that our government made many stringent provisions in the law last year itself to prevent violence against doctors. Along with this, we have also come up with a free insurance cover scheme for our Kovid Warriors.
During Corona, if we look at the infection, death rate per lakh population, then India's situation has been better than the big developed and prosperous countries. The untimely end of one life is equally sad, but India has also saved millions of lives from Corona. On behalf of 130 crore countrymen, I thank all the doctors, I express my gratitude. Doctors are said to be another form of God. Many times it seems that if we will lose someone of our own, but doctors change the direction of life like an angel on such occasions.
