India Reports First Bird Flu Death this Year at AIIMS New Delhi

A 12-year-old child admitted to the pediatric department of AIIMS died due to bird flu (avian influenza) on Monday. This is the first bird flu death in the country for this year. According to the doctors, the child was infected with the virus and was admitted to AIIMS on July 2 after his health deteriorated. He died during treatment on Monday. The entire staff at AIIMS, New Delhi sent in isolation as a preventative measure.

According to AIIMS officials said, "The 12-year-old boy being treated at the hospital's D5 ward was found to be infected with H5N1 (Avian flu) after the diagnosis. The boy was suffering from leukemia and pneumonia. He was under treatment and admitted to the ICU of AIIMS in Delhi. All staff who had exposure to him should monitor themselves for any signs and symptoms of flu and should report if any are present."

Bird flu first identified in China in 1996:

Meanwhile, the child's samples were sent for examination by AIIMS to detect the virus, which has been confirmed for avian influenza on Tuesday. The doctor said that the H5N1 virus reported especially in birds and chickens. It spreads very rapidly among birds and can also spread from them to humans. The virus was first identified in China in 1996.

A few years ago, according to new scientific research, the H5N1 bird flu virus can mutate and can spread rapidly between humans. Researchers have identified five biological changes that can cause the virus to spread among humans.
