Former Indian Spin Bowler Harbhajan Singh questioned the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) senior selection committee after the announcement of the Indian team for the three-match T20 series against Sri Lanka and three matches ODI Series against Australia. Bhajji has questioned the selection committee headed by MSK Prasad regarding the selection of some players.

Harbhajan Singh has strongly criticized the selectors for not picking Mumbai's batsman Suryakumar Yadav in the Indian team. Suryakumar Yadav, who played domestic cricket for Mumbai, got a place in the India-A team for two tour matches and three ODI series against New Zealand, but Harbhajan was agitated after not seeing Suryakumar's name in the national team. Bhajji has tweeted about this.

Harbhajan Singh tweeted on Tuesday, writing, "I keep wondering what's wrong @surya_14kumar hv done ? Apart from scoring runs like others who keep getting picked for Team india india/A india /B why different rules for different players ??? Suryakumar Yadav has scored 4920 runs in 73 first class matches. The 29-year-old Suryakumar has an average of 43.53, including 13 centuries and 24 half-centuries. In T20s, he has scored 3,012 runs in 149 matches at an average of 31.37. Recently he played an important role in the Ranji Trophy scored unbeaten 102 against Baroda. He has played 85 matches in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and scored 1548 runs with the help of seven half-centuries.
