Harbhajan Singh Expressed his Displeasure over the Attack on Nankana Sahib Gurdwara

Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh has expressed his displeasure over the attack on Nankana Sahib Gurdwara in Pakistan's Punjab province and appealed to Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan to take strict action in the matter. Harbhajan raised the issue by two tweets on Saturday morning and appealed to respect each other's religions. In his first tweet, Harbhajan shared a video of the mob attacking the Gurdwara.

Gurunanak Dev, the first Sikh Guru was born in Nankana Sahib, due to which this is one of the most sacred shrines. On Friday evening, hundreds of Muslims surrounded the Gurdwara located there and threatened the Sikhs, demolish the gurdwara and rename the city to Ghulam Ali Mustafa. The fundamentalists also raised anti-Sikh slogans, which led to the cancellation of Bhajan-Kirtan at the Gurdwara for the first time.

The Indian Foreign Ministry, while reacting to the case, strongly condemned the targeting of minorities in Pakistan. Along with this, India demanded the Government of Pakistan to take immediate steps to ensure the safety of the members of the Sikh community living there and also asked to take strict measures against the abusers of indecency.
