While the BJP's strong leader and Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj have made speculation in the political corridor about the announcement of not contesting the next Lok Sabha elections, her husband Swaraj Kaushal appreciated the wife's decision and expressed her happiness.
Swaraj Kaushal has tweeted together after the announcement of Sushma. He wrote, Thanks for your decision not to contest any further elections. Swaraj tweeted that I remember Milkha Singh had to wait for a while. This race started in 1977 and it has now been 41 years.
Till now, you have fought 11 elections and have not contested just twice in 1991 and 2004 because the party did not let you contest the election. I have been running behind you for the past 46 years, now I am not 19 years old. Now I have started to breathe too. Saying that citing his health, Sushma said that my party has the right to decide my election candidacy. But for health reasons, I have made my mind that I will not contest the next Lok Sabha election.
