Samantha Cerio the 22-year-old and an Auburn University senior was attempting a handspring double front flips with a blind landing when she fell awkwardly at the Baton Rouge Regional on Friday.

During the event she misbalanced and after the incident, she broke her both the knees in front of everyone.   

After this, she announced her retirement. During the event, she fell down and slipped on Matt. After the whole incident happens with her, she undergoes in two leg surgeries. She said that I was associated with the game for the past 18 years. In this way, there was no thought of retirement. But now I cannot move forward in my sports career. She was the Player of the Year in the University at the Walt Event.

When she landed she screamed in agony while the crowd watched on in horror, reportedly dislocated both her knees and broke both of her legs during the routine.

Ms. Cerio has announced her retirement from gymnastics on Instagram post, saying that she is "hanging up my grips and leaving the chalk behind" after 18 years.

"Friday night was my final night as a gymnast," she wrote on Sunday. "I couldn't be prouder of the person that gymnastics has made me become.

"It's taught me hard work, humility, integrity, and dedication, just to name a few. It's given me challenges and roadblocks that I would have never imagined that has tested who I am as a person.

"It may not have ended the way I had planned, but nothing ever goes as planned."

 She also added and said "Thank you Auburn family for giving me a home and a chance to continue doing the sport that will always be my first love. I am honored to have had the privilege to represent the navy and orange AU for the past 4 years with my team by my side.

After coming fourth Auburn University Complete the night with the highest score in event history, advancing to the regional finals on Saturday.
