Graeme Smith, former captain of the South Africa cricket team, is going to become the next Director of Cricket South Africa. CSA President Krist Ngani has announced this. He said that he has spoken to him for his appointment to this post.  He says that I am happy that we have added Graeme Smith to us and it will be announced by Wednesday next week. It is being said that if Smith comes to this post, then he will have only two weeks' time to appoint a selection committee and coaching staff. South Africa will play their first match of the four-match Test series with England from 26 December. The current situation continues in South Africa cricket as the current chairman Nenjani has refused to resign along with his other colleagues on the board. Graeme Smith has been the most successful captain of South Africa so far. He was also an excellent batsman and scored 9265 runs in 117 Tests. He also scored 27 centuries in Tests.

A few days ago Graeme Smith was also elected as an honorary member of the MCC, the Marylebone Cricket Club, for his outstanding achievements in cricket. He set the record for the highest score by a foreign player at this ground during the second double century at Lord's.
